VeEX announces RFTS-400 Test Unit
March 12, 2024
VeEX, a specialist in test and measurement solutions for next-generation networks, has announced the RFTS-400, its third-generation Optical Remote Fibre Test Unit, now featuring a serverless, standalone monitoring system.
As an all-in-one monitoring solution for dark fibre, in-service, and PON network monitoring, the RFTS-400 is designed with scalability and efficiency in mind, eliminating the need for additional rack space while providing a growth-certified modular system. The RFTS-400 Optical Controller Module (OCM) can be configured to accommodate specific network needs. In addition, Optical Switch Modules (OSM) support the built-in FWDM option that simplifies the installation and maintenance of the system.
Key features include:
- Modular hardware design expandable to 4608 fibres
- Supports up to 108 ports in a 1U rack
- Wide selection of OTDR configurations
- OCM module options up to 16-port built-in optical switches for system expansion, mission critical monitoring or small installations
- RFTS-400 OSM with optional built-in FWDM filters
- Fully compatible with VeSion, VeEX’s centralised monitoring platform
“With network requirements changing quickly and presenting new challenges, the flexible RFTS-400 represents a significant leap forward in remote fibre monitoring. Its adaptive and expandable software and hardware design can be easily reconfigured and deployed to support ever-growing Greenfield and Brownfield networks,” said Martin Havlicek, Product Manager at VeEX. “It also allows network operators and service providers to adapt to any network changes without losing visibility of their physical fibre infrastructure.”
