New audio drama by John Wick creator announced

Audible, a provider of spoken word entertainment, has announced The Strange Case, the first audio drama from the creator of the John Wick franchise, Derek Kolstad, releasing globally on Audible in July.
The Audible Original is a thrilling modern-day reimagining of the classic story of Jekyll and Hyde. Starring BAFTA award winner and Oscar and Golden Globe nominee Vanessa Kirby, multiple Golden Globe, BAFTA and Emmy-nominated actor, David Oyelowo OBE, Sofie Gråbøl and a full cast, with an original score by Brittany Allen.
Dr. Jekyll (Vanessa Kirby) is an elite international specialist in energy systems, working closely with her handler Louis (David Oyelowo) in a career that takes her across the globe to politically volatile territories such as Iran and North Korea. But when an arms dealer accuses her of having killed his family, Dr. Jekyll begins to question details of her life, who Louis really is, and whether her strange recurring dream has a greater meaning. She enlists the help of psychologist Sigrun (Sofie Gråbøl), and together they delve into Dr. Jekyll’s darker other side, a brutal assassin named… Hyde.
The Strange Case has been created and written by Derek Kolstad, alongside writers Mitali Jahagirdar, Laurie Kirwan-Ashman, Nick Luddington, Fallon O’Dowd, Ayeesha Menon and Directed and Executive Produced by John Scott Dryden. Produced by Goldhawk Productions, featuring cutting-edge 3D sound design and a Dolby Atmos mix.

We enjoyed the challenge of writing for audio where the visuals are left up to the listener’s imagination.”

Derek Kolstad is the writer and creator behind the critically acclaimed John Wick and Nobody franchises. Previously, he was a co-executive producer on the Marvel/Disney+ limited series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, produced The Princess for 20th Century Studios, and The Continental for Lionsgate/Peacock. Other notable credits include The Man from Nowhere, Splinter Cell, and Die Hart. Kolstad has active projects at several studios and streamers, and is in active development on the Nobody sequel for Universal.
