Law&Crime Network selected as sole pool camera in Breonna Taylor trial

Legal and true crime network Law&Crime has been selected by the Jefferson Circuit Court to provide gavel-to-gavel video footage from inside the courtroom of the trial of Brett Hankison, the former Louisville police officer charged with three counts of wanton endangerment in relation to the fatal shooting of 26-year-old EMT Breonna Taylor. Live gavel-to-gavel coverage on the Law&Crime Network will begin on February 23 with opening statements and continue through the entirety of the trial. Brian Buckmire, attorney and host of the nationally syndicated Law&Crime Daily, will deliver live reports from the scene at the Jefferson County Circuit Court in Louisville, KY. Hankison’s case has been at the center of a national conversation about race and police force since the events leading up to Taylor’s death at her home on March 13, 2020. Following a narcotics investigation into Taylor’s ex-boyfriend, Hankison entered the residence with a “no-knock warrant” alongside fellow officers Jonathan Mattingly and Myles Cosgrove. Together the three officers ended up firing 32 shots into the apartment. The defense claims they were in response to a shot fired by Taylor’s boyfriend at the time, Kenneth Walker. The charges brought against Hankison account only for property damage and bodily endangerment inflicted upon Taylor’s neighbors.
