Marquis Broadcast, specialist in content workflows and media integration software, has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with Quantel, making it easier for Quantel customers to fully integrate workflows with third party editing, server and archive platforms.
Quantel’s recently launched sQ Fileflow application exposes a RESTful API, allowing it to be controlled by Marquis Broadcast’s Medway interoperability engine, enabling third party systems to freely exchange content with Enterprise sQ.
Medway is a sophisticated software tool kit delivering a seamless and cost-effective integration between leading broadcast content applications. Medway unifies multi-vendor systems by providing technical and operational workflows that optimise and integrate Media clip and sequence transfers; media format conversion and transcoding; and metadata capture and integration.
“Marquis Broadcast’s staff are experts in file-based workflows and sQ Fileflow lets them easily include content on Enterprise sQ systems,” said Steve Owen, Quantel marketing director. “We look forward to working closely with the Marquis Broadcast team to help our customers achieve enterprise-wide workflow integration.”
“At Marquis we are committed to interoperability by building bridges to other companies’ technologies,” said Chris Steele, product manager, Marquis Broadcast. “We are now working with over 25 separate partner organisations to integrate our media integration products with partners’ solutions to enabling broadcasters and other users of digital media to achieve maximum efficiencies from their workflow processes.
“The advantages of Medway to deliver high levels of integration while providing a simple highway to move media without incurring compatibility problems is proving particularly popular,” continues Steele. “At IBC we received unprecedented interest in Medway and were able to develop discussions further with a number of other leading organisations in the editing, video server, archive/storage, automation and media asset management spaces and we are excited about developing some new workflow solutions with that will be launched in the near future.”
