Anevia, a specilaist in video streaming and infrastructure solutions for OTT, live TV and VoD, has revealed that Canal+, the French pay-TV group, has launched a comprehensive multiscreen service leveraging Anevia’s ViaMotion technology.

As part of their new multiscreen service, 125 live SD and HD channels are now delivered to viewers across metropolitan France, the Caribbean, the Indian Ocean and Pacific regions through a broad range of both fixed and mobile devices and in a variety of video formats including Apple HLS and Microsoft Smooth Streaming.

The Canal+ choice to deploy Anevia was driven by the desire to build their new service on an agnostic platform able to interoperate with their ecosystem while guaranteeing support for multiple third-party encoders, content delivery networks and DRM solutions.

ViaMotion also allows Canal+ to regain full, in-house control over their video content for increased protection against copyright infringements. Canal+ viewers can now take their TV experience to the next level thanks to new video services such as start-over – again powered by ViaMotion.
