Intel TV to Verizon?

November 21, 2013

Intel CEO Brian Krzanich has decided that he doesn’t want to disrupt the TV business and will sell its nascent OnCue service, according to Reuters.

Intel intended to launch OnCue by the end of this year, and the plan was to offer a TV subscription service that would stream live TV feeds as well as catch-up. Reuters now reports that a shortlist of buyers, that had included Liberty Global, now favours Verizon.

Apparently retail venues hired as pop-up stores in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago this holiday season for OnCue have been switched to show rooms for Intel-powered tablets and laptops.
