Octoshape, a specialist in OTT stream acceleration and contribution technologies for broadcasters, enterprises and carriers, has announced that Chinese Satellite TV Communications Group (CSTV), a Chinese-based content provider focused on the 24/7 delivery of news, entertainment, sports and more, has selected Octoshape to power “FainTV,” the company’s new HD mobile video streaming service.
In cooperation with Samsung Galaxy, the Octoshape-powered OTT cloud service, which includes access to the largest video library for mobile viewers in Taiwan, will deliver 50 channels of diverse HD content to thousands of broadband-connected devices. Initially available in Taiwan, the rollout will soon be expanded to Hong Kong and Mainland China.
“Due to the rapidly growing mobile consumer base in China, CSTV decided to make its library of content available via an integrated Samsung mobile app,” said Kevin Wang, Vice President, CSTV. “With multiscreen delivery provided by FainTV and powered by Octoshape, Samsung Galaxy users in Taiwan now have more viewing choices delivered to them at the fastest speeds and with the highest levels of quality available today. The service will be available in China very soon. ”
