With the UK launch of Amazon’s Fire TV, OTT platform TVPlayer has become one of a top selection of entertainment apps to feature on the platform from launch.

Following the hugely-successful launch on Amazon Fire tablets, TVPlayer has now been reimagined for the big screen. Users can easily find TVPlayer within the Fire TV Appstore, whether through their remote control or voice search.

TVPlayer will feature in the Entertainment section of the Fire TV Appstore and is free to download. The app has been streamlined for Fire TV – viewers will find a slick interface from where they can select the channel they want to watch from the homepage. The TVPlayer app also offers users the opportunity to choose from the channel list, what’s ‘On Now’, and click from the show which appears on the transparent overlay using their Fire TV remote.

Lewis Arthur, Platform Manager of TVPlayer, described Fire TV as “a great piece of technology” and that form part of the UK launch demonstrated TVPlayer’s commitment to making its popular content available to new audiences and users across multiple platforms.

The TVPlayer app for Amazon Fire TV has been developed by Simplestream, a specialist provider of multi-platform live streaming and catch-up TV services.
