Eurosport’s coverage of the 2015 FIA World Touring Car Championship is to incorporate social media integration for the first time with driver Twitter and Instagram activity featuring on a split-screen view before each race and during the repair time.
Thanks to software from specialist company Spreadfast, fans will get to read the latest thoughts from drivers and view rare images from inside the cockpit before the racing gets underway.
While Eurosport has used social media integration in its coverage of the Australian Open tennis tournament and various winter sports events, it has never been used in motorsport programming before, meaning the WTCC Race of Argentina on March 8 will mark a notable first.
