Canal+ Group and Netflix have announced a partnership which will see the Netflix service included in Canal+ bundles in France
Starting on October 15th, Canal+ subscribers to the CINE / SERIES package will have access to the CANAL+ premium channel as well as the Netflix service, all under the one subscription.
This new bundle will include the Netflix Standard offer (ttwo screens, HD) and launch at €15 per month, in addition to the subscription fee to Canal+. It will also include over 20 movie and series channels already available in the CINE / SERIES package.
Maxime Saada, CEO of Canal+ Group, commented: “We are very pleased to partner with Netflix to offer our subscribers the richest movies and series bundle on the market. Netflix is the global reference in the industry with world-acclaimed shows. This offer complements our all-round offer of first-run movies, major live sports events, world-class series, including our Créations Originales. It also helps us further consolidate our position as a key aggregator of content and services. ”
Reed Hastings, Founder and CEO, Netflix, added: “We’re excited to work with Canal+, one of Europe’s leading media companies. We both share a love of entertainment and this partnership will make it easy for Canal+ customers to get the complete Netflix experience — and with only one bill. Great stories can come from anywhere and be loved everywhere — and we’re committed to helping more people access a diverse range of content from creators all around the world both on Netflix and through our partnership with Canal+.”
Canal+ subscribers who already have a separate Netflix subscription will be able to subscribe to the new pack and access all their video services in one subscription. CANAL+ subscribers who wish to subscribe only to Netflix will be able do so via CANAL+’ latestgeneration set-top boxes.
The offer will initially launch in France but is intended to be expanded in other territories operated by Canal+ Group, starting shortly with Poland.
