WWE Royal Rumble on BT Sport Box Office

January 23, 2020

By Nik Roseveare

Following WWE’s move to BT Sport at the start of the year, The 2020 Royal Rumble event will be the first WWE PPV shown live on BT Sport Box Office on January 26th – preceded by a free Royal Rumble Kickoff show.

The Royal Rumble sees 30 superstars enter the ring at regular intervals. The winner of the event is the last wrestler remaining after all others have been thrown over the top rope and thus elimated. There will be both a men and a women’s Royal Rumble match.

The current WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar, will enter the men’s Royal Rumble at #1 as he looks to become only the third person to win the event having been first to enter the ring. Other notable entrants include the likes of AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, Rey Mysterio, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens. As ever, fans can also expect some surprise entrants, with the likes of WWE Hall of Famers Edge and Kane both heavily rumoured to make an appearance.

Meanwhile, the likes of Alexa Bliss, Nikki Cross, Natalya and ‘The Queen’ Charlotte Flair will battle it out in the women’s Royal Rumble match. The winners of the respective Royal Rumble matches earn the honour of headlining Wrestlemania (on April 5th) in a bout against the World Champion.

The PPV will also feature a number of singles matches, including Daniel Bryan taking on ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt (pictured) in a strap match for the WWE Universal Championship.

WWE fans will be able to watch the Royal Rumble live on BT Sport Box Office WWE, with the free-to-view Royal Rumble KickOff show starting at 10pm. Coverage of the main card will start at midnight, costing £19.95 in the UK and can be watched through BT TV, Virgin TV and Sky.
