Zig Zag partners with The R&A & Egoli Media on Seve doc

Zig Zag Productions has partnered with The R&A and Egoli Media to create a feature length documentary film, charting the amazing life of Severiano Ballesteros Sota. From his humble beginnings to becoming one of greatest and most loved golfing and sporting icons of all time.
‘Seve’ explores the life of Ballesteros from learning the game on the beaches of Cantabria, Spain, to becoming one of the most decorated and celebrated golfers in the game’s history. A decade on from his tragic death, the landmark documentary focuses on Seve’s life both on and off the course, with testimony from his family and fellow golfing heroes including José María Olazábal, Colin Montgomerie, Gary Player and Bernard Langer.
With five major championship wins, including three victories at The Open, and a further five Ryder Cup triumphs, Ballesteros left an indelible mark on the game. With his swashbuckling style and charismatic persona Ballesteros is undoubtedly one of golf’s all-time greats.
‘Seve’ is slated to premiere in autumn 2021 to coincide with this year’s Ryder Cup in Whistling Straits, US. Ballesteros and compatriot, Olazábal remain Europe’s most successful Ryder Cup partnership in the tournament’s history having played together a record 15 times – the most by any pair in history – winning 12 points.
The 1 x 90’ feature film documentary is exec produced by Zig Zag Productions, Danny Fenton and Matt Graff, alongside Caroline Rowland for Egoli Media and Malcolm Booth for The R&A. David White and Joss Holmes of Northridge Films are also on board to produce and direct.
