Law&Crime Network provides coverage of Murdaugh murder trial

January 25, 2023

Law&Crime, the network for legal news, will be providing the latest up-to-the-minute coverage of the upcoming Alex Murdaugh murder trial across multiple platforms. Live trial coverage began on January 23rd with jury selection. Opening arguments are scheduled to begin on January 25th.
Correspondents Angenette Levy and GiGi McKelvey will be inside the Colleton County Courthouse in Walterboro, S.C. to report the latest updates. They will also be taking viewer questions during a daily live Q&A throughout the trial, which can be streamed on the Law&Crime Network, YouTube and other social media sites. Rounding out the multi-platform coverage, Law&Crime’s team of reporters will take a deep look into the case through web articles and podcasts.
Former S.C. attorney Alex Murdaugh is accused of killing his wife and son on June 7, 2021. Prosecutors say Murdaugh shot his wife with a rifle and his son with a shotgun in an attempt to draw attention from financial crimes he had allegedly committed.
The murders were just one event in a string of tragedies and crimes connected to the once-prominent South Carolina family. In 2018, the Murdaugh family housekeeper died in their home. One year later, Murdaugh’s younger son was involved in a fatal boating accident. And months after the double murder, Murdaugh allegedly hired a hitman to kill him so that his surviving son could collect a $10 million life insurance policy. All of this took place in the same region where Murdaugh’s father, grandfather and great-grandfather were each elected as the top prosecutor for the past 90 years.
“Like we did for the Depp/Heard and Alex Jones trials, you can count on Law&Crime for the most thorough, multi-platform coverage of this high-profile trial. We will not only provide a livestream, but we will also utilize our team of experienced attorneys to provide context to the events transpiring in court,” said Rachel Stockman, Law&Crime’s president.
