ITV nominated for 14 RTS Television Journalism Awards

ITV has received a total of 14 nominations in the RTS Television Awards shortlist, including a first-time nomination for Good Morning Britain news anchor Susanna Reid in the prestigious Network Presenter of the Year category, as well as a double nomination for ITV News’ UK Editor Paul Brand, recognition for Anushka Asthana in the new category of Political Journalist of the year, and a nomination for Specialist Journalist of the year for Dan Rivers.

Amy Welch (ITV News Granada) and Rags Martel (ITV News London) are in contention for the Nations and Regions Reporter of the Year category.

Brand’s Partygate story receives two nominations, in the Home News category, and Scoop of the Year.

ITV News Granada are nominated for their reporting on the Manchester Arena Inquiry and the Emergency Response, in the Nations and Regions News category, as are ITV News Meridian for their reporting on the East Kent Hospitals Baby Scandal.

The Crossing for ITV’s Exposure strand is nominated in the Current Affairs – Home category, a film from DM Documentary productions piecing together the events behind the tragic capsizing of a dinghy of asylum seekers where over 30 people died.

Afghanistan – No Country for Women, where reporter Ramita Navai went undercover to powerfully expose the reality of life for women under Taliban rule, is nominated in the Current Affairs International category, on the back of its 2022 Grierson Award win for best Current Affairs documentary.

Here’s The Story, from ITV News Digital, is nominated for the Innovation Award.
