On March 29th, SpaceX’s Mission 5-10 added another 56 satellites to its constellation.

The launch took place from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida at 4.01pm (Florida-time). The first stage booster supporting this mission previously launched Crew-5, GPS III Space Vehicle 06, and Inmarsat I-6 F2.

This was SpaceX’s 21st launch to date this year and the 11th devoted to the Starlink fleet.

The mission carried 56 of Starlink’s Version 1.5 ‘Mini’ satellites. The launch takes the overall number of Starlinks launched to 4,217, although the number in orbit or in transit to orbit are 3,914.

The Starlink numbers will continue to grow. Elon Musk’s company has permission to deploy 12,000 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit and has applied for permission for another 30,000 on top of that.
