Hispasat to distribute Travelxp in LatAm

April 20, 2023

Travelxp, the creator of exclusive specialised travel content, has selected Hispasat as the satellite operator to distribute its HD channel in Latin America for the next three years. The teleport at Lurin (Peru) and the Amazonas satellite fleet, located at 61° West, will be used for this purpose.

Travelxp HD is a pay-per-view thematic travel channel offering content filmed around the world and distributed to nearly 200 million households in more than 100 countries and 25 languages.

Hispasat’s satellites located at 30º West and 61º West are in a privileged position for the deployment of services of this type in Latin America, a market in which DTH maintains a relevant position compared to other options for the distribution of audiovisual content. In particular, the Amazonas fleet, at position 61º West, is the benchmark in the region, offering DTH services to almost two million subscribers.

For the distribution of this new channel, Hispasat also has the Lurin teleport, one of the largest in the region. Satellite reception and transmission services (in standard and extended Ku-band, C-band and DBS) are offered from there. As a result, Hispasat customers can deploy their own DTH services, contribution and distribution of satellite channels to cable operators, telecommunications operators and service providers, as well as the transmission of occasional events, among others.
