Prime Video acquires rights to Those About To Die

Prime Video will launch historical drama series Those About To Die, from director Roland Emmerich, in 2024 in the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Turkey, Andorra, Monaco, Luxembourg and Belgium.
Inspired by the non-fiction book of the same name by Daniel P. Mannix, the 10-episode series will immerse viewers into the complex and corrupt world of chariot racing and gladiatorial fights in ancient Rome.
The series stars Hollywood legend Sir Anthony Hopkins as Emperor Vespasian. The cast also includes Iwan Rheon, Tom Hughes, Sara Martins and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson among others.
Those About To Die from AGC studios was commissioned by High End Productions, the Joint Venture recently created by Herbert G. Kloiber and Constantin Film, together with the American streaming provider Peacock and is produced by Centropolis, Hollywood Gang and Street Entertainment, The series is written by Robert Rodat and directed by Emmerich, together with Marco Kreuzpaintner. Executive Producers are Emmerich, Harald Kloser, Gianni Nunnari, Herbert G. Kloiber, Martin Moszkowicz, Oliver Berben, Jonas Bauer, Charles Holland, Stuart Ford and Lourdes Diaz, Charles Holland, Kreuzpaintner and Rodat.
