Studio Lambert makes senior promotions

December 11, 2023

Production company Studio Lambert has promoted three members of its senior team as the company continues its growth in large scale unscripted shows and drama series.

Tim Harcourt, who has been creative director since 2014, becomes chief creative officer.  Harcourt has led the company’s unscripted programming for nearly a decade and been responsible for many of its hit shows including BAFTA-winning “Race Across the World” for BBC and “The Circle” for Netflix, which was recently ordered for a sixth and seventh season.

Mike Cotton, who was deputy creative director, and oversees both “The Traitors” for BBC and NBC Peacock as well as BAFTA-winning “Gogglebox” for Channel 4, becomes creative director (unscripted).

Maddie Sinclair becomes creative director (scripted).  She is executive producing Studio Lambert’s new comedy drama series for the BBC, “Boarders”, alongside Sue Hogg and the creator/writer Daniel Lawrence Taylor.

Hogg, who founded Studio Lambert’s drama department in 2015, has made the decision to step back from her full-time role as head of drama to concentrate on individual projects.  She will take on a new role as creative consultant.  During her time running the drama department she has been responsible for the BAFTA-winning “Three Girls”, Nicole Taylor’s surrogacy series “The Nest”, Gwyneth Hughes’ Northern Ireland abortion series “Three Families”, the sci-fi series “The Feed” for Prime Video and now “Boarders”.

“Tim is an outstanding creative leader and has been my partner in the business since 2020,” said Studio Lambert CEO, Stephen Lambert.  “He and I are delighted Mike and Maddie are taking on creative director roles, something which reflects the responsibility and creative work they have been doing for some time now. We are also very grateful to Sue for establishing us as a producer of high-quality drama programmes and we are very glad she will continue her relationship with our company.”

  • A second season of the global hit new series “Squid Game: The Challenge” was ordered by Netflix last week.  It is a co-production with The Garden and Harcourt is the lead executive producer.
