To Kill a Tiger on Netflix

Director Nisha Pahuja and Notice Pictures have announced that Oscar-nominated documentary Feature To Kill a Tiger, is now available to watch globally on Netflix.

To Kill A Tiger follows the story of Ranjit, a farmer in Jharkhand, India, who takes on the fight of his life when he demands justice for his 13-year-old daughter, the victim of sexual assault. The documentary highlights Ranjit’s unwavering support for his daughter and the bravery of a family willing to risk everything for justice.

“It’s been a long, fascinating nine year journey with To Kill a Tiger and to be here at this juncture – to announce we’re releasing globally on Netflix on March 10th, Oscar Sunday, we simply couldn’t have asked for anything better,” said Pahuja. “I’m filled with gratitude for all the partners along the way – our co-Producer the National Film Board of Canada, our Canadian Broadcasters TVO and the Knowledge Network, and our supporters Telefilm Canada and the Rogers Group of Funds. All of us who have made this film could not be happier than to be showcasing this epic labour of love and the story of Ranjit and his family on Netflix.”

To Kill a Tiger has amassed 27 awards including three Canadian Screen Awards, Best Documentary at the 2023 Palm Springs International Film Festival, and their recent Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Feature Film. The film was produced by Cornelia Principe, Notice Pictures’ Pahuja and the NFB’s David Oppenheim.
