MGM rolls out rebranded MGM+ in UK

The MGM streaming service has rebranded as MGM+ and launched in the UK today (May 20th). The service is priced at £4.49 per month.

MGM+ provides a curated lineup of premium first-run original series as well as legacy hit series and classic blockbuster movies. The international streaming service is currently available in 31 countries across Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and Canada. From popular TV series Handmaid’s TaleStargate, and Teen Wolf, to blockbuster movie franchises Rocky, CreedChild’s PlayPink Panther, and Legally Blonde. The iconic lineup of MGM programming was recently joined with an offering of premium Lionsgate / Starz series and movies in select territories.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan – All seasons including the NEW Season 3

Set in South Jamaica, Queens, in 1991, Raising Kanan is a prequel to the original Power franchise. It is a sprawling family drama that revolves around the coming of age of Kanan Stark (played by Mekai Curtis): Ghost and Tommy’s mentor, partner and adversary, who ultimately dies in a hail of gunfire in the eighth episode of Power’s penultimate season. In season three, every member of the Thomas family must confront an existential crisis that challenges their very identity.

BMF – All seasons including the NEW Season 3
Inspired by true legends, BMF centres around brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory (played by Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr.) and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory (Da’Vinchi), who rose through the illegal drug trade from the depths of poverty in Detroit to the heights of fame and fortune across America. In season three, Meech moves to Atlanta to expand their empire, facing rival crews and crossing paths with burgeoning hip-hop legends, while Terry holds down the fort in Detroit, facing formidable rivals, old and new.

Outlander – All seven seasons available
Outlander spans the genres of romance, science-fiction, history and adventure in one epic tale. It follows the story of Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe), a married combat nurse from 1945, who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743 Scotland. When forced to marry Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), a chivalrous young Scottish warrior, Claire’s heart is torn between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

Power Book II: Ghost – All three seasons available
Power Book II: Ghost is the first series in the expanded “Power” Universe franchise. The series picks up shortly after the earth-shattering events of “Power” as Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey, Jr.) grapples with a new world order. Truly on his own for the first time in his life, Tariq is forced to balance his newly-formed drug operation with school, his love life, and family, and figures out that the only way to avoid the same fate his father met is to become him – only better.

Northern Lights – NEW Season 1 available
Set in Dublin North City Centre’s Capel Street and Northside Quays, Northern Lights tells the story of two grieving strangers, Lloyd (Stephen Jones) and Áine (Elva Trill), whose worlds collide when Lloyd notices Áine standing on Grattan Bridge. Fearing the worst, he decides to intervene. A series of revelations, confessions, secrets and lies follow leading to Lloyd and Áine becoming beacons of light for one another when they need it most, negotiating the obvious gender politics and initial awkwardness of meeting in such unusual circumstances.

The Serpent Queen – All episodes of Season 1 available
A historical drama with an edge, The Serpent Queen puts a contemporary spin on conventional storytelling to tell the tale of Catherine de Medici’s (Samantha Morton) rise to power. With her future uncertain and with little hope of conceiving an heir, Catherine must quickly learn who she can trust – both within her personal entourage of courtiers and the members of the royal court – while outmaneuvering anyone who underestimates her determination to survive at any cost.

Power – All six seasons available
Power is a visionary drama that straddles the glamorous Manhattan lifestyles of the rich and infamous and the underworld of the international drug trade. The cast is led by Omari Hardwick as James “Ghost” St Patrick, a man trying to escape his role as a drug kingpin for a legitimized life in the elite of NYC; Joseph Sikora as his brother in arms in the drug business, Tommy Egan; Naturi Naughton plays Ghost’s fierce wife Tasha St. Patrick; and Lela Loren is his first love, Assistant U.S. Attorney Angela Valdes.

Power Book IV: Force – Seasons 1 and 2 available
Power Book IV: Force centres on fan-favorite character Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora), after he cuts ties and puts New York in his rearview mirror for good. After making a detour to Chicago to close an old wound that’s been haunting him for decades, one step leads to another and Tommy quickly finds himself in the city’s violent drug game, inserting himself between the city’s two biggest crews.

Hightown – Seasons 1 and 2 available
Hightown is set on idyllic Cape Cod, and follows one woman’s journey to sobriety, intertwined with an unfolding murder investigation. Jackie Quiñones (Monica Raymund), a hard-partying National Marine Fisheries Service agent, has her free-wheeling life thrown into disarray when she discovers a body on the beach – another casualty of Cape Cod’s opioid epidemic. The lives of everyone connected to this murder crash and converge, reminding us just how complicated – and deadly – our addictions can be.

P-Valley – Seasons 1 and 2 available
P-Valley tells the kaleidoscopic story of a little-strip-club-that-could and the big characters who come through its doors – the hopeful, the lost, the broken, the ballers, the beautiful, and the damned. Set against the rural Mississippi Delta in the fictional town of Chucalissa, the Pynk is an oasis in a rough patch of human existence where beauty can be hard to find at the crossroads of grit and glitter.

Pistol – All episodes of Season 1 available
Based on Steve Jones’ autobiography Lonely Boy, Pistol is a six-episode limited series about a rock and roll revolution. The furious, raging storm at the center of this revolution are the Sex Pistols – and at the centre of this series is Sex Pistols’ founding member and guitarist, Steve Jones. Jones’ hilarious, emotional and at times heart-breaking journey guides us through a kaleidoscopic telling of three of the most epic, chaotic and mucus-spattered years in the history of music.

Ramy – All three seasons available
Ramy tells the story of 20-something, first generation Egyptian-American Ramy Youssef, who is on a spiritual journey in his politically-divided New Jersey neighborhood. The show brings a new perspective to the screen as it explores the challenges of what it’s like being caught between a Muslim community that thinks life is a moral test and a millennial generation that thinks life has no consequences.

Black Sails – All four seasons available
Black Sails takes place twenty years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel, Treasure Island, and follows the most feared pirate of the day, Captain Flint (played by Toby Stephens). The 10-episode fourth season of the stand-out high seas drama finds our pirates at war in the West Indies, where he shores of New Providence Island have never been bloodier.
