ANGA COM 2014 continues Connected Home cooperation with BITKOM

October 29, 2013

In 2014, ANGA COM, Europe‘s leading Exhibition and Congress for Broadband, Cable & Satellite will again feature a “Connected Home Special“. As in the previous year, this day is organised in cooperation with BITKOM, the Federal Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media. ANGA COM will take place from 20 to 22 May 2014 in Cologne (Germany), the Connected Home Special will be on 22 May.

Further to a high-level Connected Home Summit this day will feature panels on the topics Media Home Gateways, Apps for TV usage, Home Security, and Smart Metering. In addition, the keywords Next Generation Networks, Content Delivery, Smart TV, Multiscreen, and Video on Demand will feature prominently on the ANGA COM congress agenda.

Peter Charissé, Managing Director ANGA COM: “We are looking forward to continuing the successful cooperation with BITKOM. In recent months, the in-home distribution of TV and Internet has proven to be a driving force for home networking. This is not about mere scenarios, but about actual products. Therefore, in unison with the exhibition, there will be an even stronger focus on the ‘Connected Media Home’ in 2014.“

Dr. Bernhard Rohleder, Director General, BITKOM: “In the coming year, we will build on the successful ‘Connected Home Special’ of ANGA COM 2013. The topic of home networking has become increasingly important due to the growing number of Internet-based video and audio streaming services. ANGA COM represents the right framework for discussions of this trend.“

In 2013 ANGA COM attracted 450 exhibitors and 17,000 visitors (again with 50 percent from abroad). This signified a 6 per cent increase in visitors in comparison to the year before. Further up-to-date information and registration forms for exhibitors are available at www.angacom.de.
