Samsung supplies Sky HD boxes

Samsung Electronics is to supply set-top boxes to BSkyB. The deal will result in Samsung manufacturing set-top boxes for Sky, the first of which will be a High Definition box. HD is Sky’s fastest growing additional TV product, currently boasting 292,000 subscribers.

UK supermarket chain Tesco has launched what it claims is the UK’s cheapest digital set-top box with a £10 (E14.7) price tag. Manufactured by Techwood, the digital TV box offers the standard 40 Freeview digital terrestrial TV channels and numerous radio stations.
