BBC online booms in Europe

Figures released by Comscore show that the BBC has the most visited original news site in Europe. The BBC has the second highest number of unique visitors after news aggregator Yahoo with over 26 million unique users per month in Europe, putting it ahead of all its major international competitors.
The figures, which include the BBC’s international website BBC.com, measure audiences across Europe with nearly 10 million unique visitors per month outside the UK.
Growing numbers of people are accessing BBC News on mobiles and tablets. In an average month, the BBC News sites and apps are visited by around 8.5 million users worldwide on mobile and tablet devices. James Montgomery, Controller, Digital and Technology for BBC Global News said: “The BBC’s audience goes from strength to strength in Europe across different platforms including both online and TV.”
