French rocket launch company Arianespace reported impressive revenues for 2015, and helped by problems amongst its rival launch companies (notably less activity from SpaceX and the Russian Proton system).
Overall revenues were €1.433 billion, and up 2.4 per cent on 2014.
Arianespace’s net profits, however, were just €4 million from 12 overall launches (6 by Ariane 5 rockets, 3 on Soyuz vehicles and 3 by its Vega smaller rocket). During 2014 Arianespace carried out 11 launches.
The year ended with Arianespace having a contracted backlog worth €5.3 billion, helped by a record 33 launch contracts signed during 2015 and worth some €2.5 billion.
