Opera TV launches Snap 3.0

July 14, 2016

Opera TV has announced the launch of the latest update to its next-generation TV app technology, Opera TV Snap 3.0. The latest version of Opera TV Snap brings a complete end-to-end OTT app generator for broadcasters, content providers, and VoD services. This full platform upgrade enables content providers to mix live broadcasted streams, video clips from recent episodes, and full series content in one app with a multi-tier category navigation for easy access.

Opera TV Snap 3.0 has expanded to include support for Brightcove Video Cloud, Dailymotion, JW Player, Ooyala, and Zype, empowering content providers to reach new audiences on millions of Smart TV devices.

“According to Parks Associates research, OTT video usage is expanding worldwide with 55 percent of UK broadband households and 51 per cent in France watching TV online, compared to 70 per cent in the US,” said Aneesh Rajaram, CEO of Opera TV. “Opera TV Snap is the fastest way for broadcasters and VoD services to enter the OTT market. The platform allows them to reach new audiences on the home’s biggest screen, while also enabling content owners to monetise their existing video catalogs through Opera’s own ad networks and partnerships.”
