SCN launches on Freeview

April 12, 2018

Promising an exciting new way to watch a huge range of sports shows on demand, Sports Channel Network (SCN) is now available on Internet-connected televisions on UK DTT platform Freeview channel 273.

The channel offers a host of shows on demand, airing everything from eSports, to motorsports, to tennis, to combat and basketball.

“We wanted to give access to some of the nation’s favourite sports shows to more people” commented Paul Coster, SCN’s CEO. “Television viewing has changed significantly in recent years. People no longer just want their television on demand, they need it on demand. This is also coupled with the fact that non-mainstream sports have taken off at a speed that few were expecting.”

Shows include The Inside Line, an F1 show, which is a favourite of many motorsports fans, which was previously only available on Sky 1. Fans can also watch the World Sailing Show, which was previously only available on BT Sport and Front Runner, as well as Golfing World, InCycle and Mobil 1 The Grid, which were shown on FreeSports and Sky Sports.

SCN says it is the only place to watch popular shows such as Arena eSports, Total Combat (covering all disciplines of combat sports), FIFA Basketball (a weekly series from basketball’s world governing body, FIBA), Deuce (a weekly tennis series), and Life’s a Pitch (a weekly football series from the fans point of view).

“SCN allows fans to watch their favourite sports shows such as The Inside Line, on their Internet-connected TV when they want and completely free,” explained Coster. “Best of all, it gives sports fans the opportunity to explore and discover a host of other sports.”

In the coming months, the channel is set to announce more sports shows and partnerships as well as launch the app version of the on-demand service, designed to make it even easier for fans to watch sports on demand.
