Research: 65% US households bought CE device

August 3, 2018

New research from analyst firm Parks Associates finds 65 per cent of US broadband households bought at least one CE device in 2017. The report, 360 View: CE Adoption and Trends finds that US broadband households now own an average of 8.6 connected computing, mobile, and entertainment devices.

“Purchase intentions for smart speakers with a personal assistant have increased year-over-year, reflecting consumer interest in voice-first technologies. This product category is positioned as a gateway to drive adoption of more smart home devices in the home,” said Jennifer Kent, Director, Research Quality & Product Development, Parks Associates, who noted that the firm’s CONNECTIONS Summit at CES in January 2018, would examine strategies to build on consumer interest in new connected product categories, such as smart speakers and smart watches, as part of an expanding connected home ecosystem of products and services.
