Pluto TV boosts UK binge-watching
February 6, 2019
Ad—funded streaming service Pluto TV says it is dialling up the binge-watching experience on its UK offering. Adding to the recent success of Pluto TV’s Unsolved Mysteries pop-up channel, five new channels, all dedicated to long-standing fan favourites, are now available on the service. Additionally, thematic channels Pluto TV Comedy and Pluto TV Romance, as well as branded channel The Asylum, join the line-up permanently.
Ice Pilots NTW
After successfully leading the charge for the Pluto TV original channel Pluto TV Inside, Ice Pilots now takes flight on its own dedicated channel. All six seasons following the adventures of the men of Buffalo Air will be airing nonstop, guaranteeing a fix of the cold Canadian wind at any time.
Fear Factor
With Fear Factor, a long-time reality TV behemoth joins the line-up of UK channels.
Ghost Dimension
Ghost Dimension brings another kind of thrill to the UK: Hosts Sean Reynolds and Rebecca Palmer take ghost hunting to a whole new level. Touring haunted houses all over Great Britain, they use the latest technical instruments to collect and record evidence while incorporating good old-fashioned investigations techniques.
For viewers craving even more non-scripted formats and personalities, Pluto TV launched its all-out reality channel Pluto TV Reality at the end of 2018. Forensic Files
Pluto TV puts the not-to-be-missed true crime classic Forensic Files back on the TV screen. With fascinating real-life cases accompanied by commentary of professionals in their field and re-enactments of the most thrilling scenes, Forensic Files combines the thrill of a fictional crime series with factual knowledge and a view behind the scenes of a crime forensic.
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s
The card game inspired anime series Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s has garnered a dedicated international following and will also join Pluto TV, with a 24/7 pop-up channel. Card games, monsters and ancient mysteries galore await the viewers.
“With our pop-up channels dedicated to specific shows, we set a new standard for binge-watching at Pluto TV,” declared Olivier Jollet, Managing Director Pluto TV Europe. “The market for live streaming television over the Internet has heated up in recent months across Europe, and our channels create a great environment for viewers to tune in and relax, for free. Pop-up channels also provide a dedicated space for greater and more prolonged engagement making it the perfect environment for audiences and advertisers alike.”
In addition, new channels joining Pluto TV’s regular line-up include branded channel The Asylum, bringing the best content of the company behind classic mockbusters, mutant animal spectaculars, disaster flicks, and much more to UK screens, and thematic Pluto TV curated channels Pluto TV Comedy and Pluto TV Romance, just in time to spread the message of love for Valentine’s Day, notes the service.
