Digiturk boosts free content

In a gesture it says is aimed to bring a little joy and inspiration to households across Turkey, Digiturk has announced an array of entertainment additions and upgrades to current and new subscribers, as families across the country adjust to life at home during the coronavirus pandemic.

Effective immediately, Digiturk is applying the following to existing and new subscriptions:

  • All existing direct-to-home Sports subscribers will have access to all of Digiturk’s Entertainment content completely for free until live sports content resumes.
  • All existing direct-to-home Entertainment subscribers will have access to beIN Connect completely for free until the end of March.
  • All new subscribers to beIN Connect Entertainment will receive the first month completely for free.
  • All new subscribers to non-sports packages get 3 months’ access to Digiturk’s Entertainment content, completely free.

Despite the temporary challenges around live sport, Digiturk says it will continue to broadcast a whole range of exclusive non-live sports content, including full broadcasts of the highest rating games this season in the Süper Lig, the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and many other leagues; together with top sports shows and interviews. As and when major sports leagues resume action in the coming weeks and months, Digiturk sports subscribers will continue to have full access.

In tandem to the commercial giveaways, beIN Media Group’s management have held meetings with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and agreed to help share the WHO’s guidance and advice across its Group network spanning 43 countries worldwide, including Turkey. Further, Digiturk is launching a new programme called beIN Wellness specifically aimed at helping people to stay physically and mentally fit as everyone adjusts to life at home.

As a global broadcaster we also recognise our responsibility to spread messages of guidance surrounding the virus and bring messages of hope – which is why we’re proud to be helping the World Health Organisation with various important and inspiring initiatives. While times are currently very tough for everyone – including everyone involved in the sports and entertainment industry – we want to play our small part in supporting everyone’s efforts to stay safe at home and lift everyone’s spirits at the same time.”
