Big Deal Films joins C4’s Indie Growth Fund

Channel 4 has announced that Big Deal Film is to join its Indie Growth Fund portfolio.
Initially formed as a talent management company by Dhanny Joshi and Thomas Stogdon, Big Deal Films has established itself as a dynamic new voice in the world of production with a reputation for creating innovative factual, factual entertainment and scripted content.
It has gone on to produce work for all of the UK’s major broadcasters – BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, ITV and Sky, as well as other organisations and now has a first-look deal with BBC Studios.
Channel 4’s Head of the Indie Growth Fund, Caroline Murphy, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Big Deal Films to the Indie Growth Fund. Dhanny and Thomas are both incredibly talented individuals with ambitions to make disruptive and distinctive content that showcase new talent and voices that better reflect the world around us. With a background in TV and branded development, Big Films Creative Director Stogdon now steers the creative output at Big Deal Films including titles such as the BAFTA and Broadcast nominated doc, This Is My Life: Boys to Men and the forthcoming Channel 5 series The Greatest Toys of All Time. His writing on BBC Three’s Coconut received a Debut Writer nomination at the Edinburgh TV Festival’s New Voice Awards and he has also been selected as a MIPTV Producer to Watch.
