Streaming platform and device specialist Roku has confirmed that Roku OS 10 has started rolling out to Roku devices including streaming players, audio products and Roku TV models. Roku OS 10 introduces a variety of new features getting users to content faster, improving network and input configurations, offering new ways to customise the experience and performance enhancements. Separately, the company has announced an all-new Roku Express 4K+, Roku Voice Remote Pro and the Roku Streambar Pro.
“The Roku OS adds new choices, more value and continues to make streaming easier and easier with each free update,” said Ilya Asnis, senior vice president of Roku OS at Roku. “With Roku OS 10, we are enabling people to get to the content they love faster through features like Instant Resume and the Live TV Channel Guide customisation options, and taking the guesswork out of the more complex wireless network and gaming features by automating them. We are also adding tremendous value by expanding Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support to more devices. We hope the customers enjoy the update and look forward to their feedback.”
Roku OS 10 has begun rolling out to select Roku players and is expected to roll out to all supported streaming players, including the all-new Roku Express 4K+ and Roku Streambar Pro, and all Roku TV models in the coming weeks.
“We are dedicated to providing users the simplest way to stream entertainment to their TV at an affordable price,” commented Mark Ely, Vice President, Retail Product Strategy at Roku. “The new Roku Express 4K+ is a huge value in 4K streaming as 4K has become a benchmark in technology and entertainment. The Roku Voice Remote Pro is delivering on major consumer pain points with rechargeability and the voice activated lost remote finder. We believe consumers are going to be impressed with the quality they can get from Roku at these price points.”
The Roku Express 4K+ will be on shelves and available online in mid-May at major retailers across the US. The Roku Voice Remote Pro is already available at Roku.com and will be coming to other major retailers in May. Also available on shelf in the US will be the Roku Express, the Roku Streaming Stick+, the Roku Ultra and the Roku Streambar.
