Bafta nominated Cal Turner is to join Channel 4’s Factual Entertainment department as commissioning editor.

Turner, who joins from Naked has worked across some of the most popular British factual entertainment formats from The Apprentice and Snowflake Mountain, to Grand Designs and 60 Days with Ed Stafford.

Working to Head of Factual Entertainment, Alf Lawrie, Turner will be part of the team already responsible for some of the biggest titles in the portfolio such as The Great British Bake Off, Married At First Sight, Gogglebox and Celebrity Hunted.

Turner commented: “I’m really excited to be joining a channel I’ve always had huge admiration for. It’s been an ambition to work alongside Alf Lawrie and his brilliant Factual Entertainment team for some time, so I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to work on their fantastic slate.”

Lawrie added: “Cal is one of the most talented execs in the industry, and I’m overjoyed that she has joined our team. Her Channel 4 pedigree stretches back to iconic shows such as The Tower Block Of Commons and Jamie’s Dream School, and her incredible range spans from remit-defining purposeful ideas right through to the biggest, 9pm blockbusters. I am looking forward to working with her to find the next generation of iconic C4 titles.”
