Lion Television appoints Pearl as Creative Director

Lion Television, the producer of specialist and factual content, has appointed Daniel Pearl as its new Creative Director.

Pearl joins from Paramount where he was Commissioning Editor of Unscripted for Paramount+ and Channel 5. He has previously held a number of senior roles at the BBC and Channel 4.

During his career Pearl has produced and commissioned some of the highest profile factual programmes, from the Emmy-Award winning Leaving Neverland: Michael Jackson & Me, to the highest ever factual series on Channel 5 - Our Yorkshire Farm. Pearl has developed and launched a large number of factual series as well as new popular formats and has played a pivotal role in bringing top presenting talent to Channel 5, from Jeremy Vine and Dan Walker, through to Jay Blades and Lucy Worsley. Previously he was Editor of Channel 4’s Dispatches strand and Deputy Editor of the BBC’s Panorama, Newsnight and Ten O’clock News. He was also Editor of the BBC’s first ever Prime Ministerial debate.
