Fatboy Slim delivers holographic performance for EE

EE celebrated its new platform for UK consumers with a performance by iconic British DJ, Fatboy Slim, on the world’s biggest holographic stage. Livestreamed to the nation on October 19th, the one of a kind set towered 50 metres above Alexandra Palace and lit up the London skyline.
Fatboy Slim – real name Norman Cook – entertained audiences in attendance and watching online with the show, as he was joined in the sky for the performance by a host of fans from across the nation. Dance routines to his famous track Praise You were submitted over the last week on social media for the chance to be a backing dancer during the gig. Cook ended his performance with a lively version of The Rockafeller Skank.
The guest list on the night included Ashley Roberts, Ella Eyre, Max George, Maisie Smith, Lucy Watson, Yinka Bokinii and Pips Taylor (as well as Advanced-Television).
Cook commented: “Last night was a wild ride! We took over London’s skyline and made history. A massive shout out to all those fans who joined me on the world’s biggest holographic stage to kickstart a brand-new era for EE.”
The holographic stage was created utilising visual technology with live footage of Cook projected onto a 50-metre tall and 30-metre wide holo-gauze, suspended from the ground by two heavy-duty cranes. The porous nature of the holo-gauze meant that it caught elements of the projection whilst allowing some of the light beams to pass through it, create a holographic effect that stood tall across the backdrop of London’s iconic skyline.
