Additional casting announced for Disney+’s Whiskey on the Rocks

SVT and Disney+ has announced the cast that will join Rolf Lassgård in the six-part original miniseries Whiskey on the Rocks, as the final scenes were shot in Sweden last week.
Whiskey on the Rocks is a thrilling, mind-blowing yet thought provoking six-episode satire miniseries about the dramatic days when the Russian submarine U-137 ran aground just a stone’s throw from the most secret marine base in Sweden in 1981. An astounding violation of Swedish territory during the Cold War, that made the whole world hold its breath. Disney+ and Swedish public broadcaster SVT coproduces together with Skyverse Nordic.
Rolf Lassgård, playing Swedish prime minister Thorbjörn Fälldin, is accompanied by Anders Mossling (“Spelskandalen”), playing Minister of Foreign Affairs Ola Ullsten, Niklas Engdahl (“Bonusfamiljen”), as the combative Swedish Chief of Defence Björn Lagercrantz, Filip Berg (“Familjen Andersson”) as his Second and constant shadow Håkan Martinsson, Per Lasson (“The Thin Blue Line”), acting as Anders Karlsson, Commander In Chief and loyal companion to the Prime Minister, and Katrin Sundberg (“Maria Wern”), playing the Prime Minister’s Secretary Barbro Hultén, Kęstutis Stasys as Leonid Brezjnev and Mark Noble as Ronald Reagan. Among other roles, we find Elsa Saisio (”Stygga Pojkar”), Cissi von der Esch (”Fullt hus”), Per Ragnar (”Max Anger”) and Anton Lundqvist (”Kenny Starfighter”).
The original story is written by author Jonas Jonasson, globally renowned after his successful novel “The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared”. Screenwriter is Henrik Jansson-Schweizer (“Thicker than Water”, “Superswede”). Björn Stein (“The Defeated” and “Midnight Sun”) directs. Producer is Jan Marnell.

Executive Producer Disney+: Nanna Mailand-Mercado. Whiskey on the Rocks is filmed in Lithuania and Sweden. It will premiere on SVT in Sweden in December 2024.
