The schedules of France 2 and France 3, French PSB group France Télévisions’ main networks, are set to be dominated by Olympic Games coverage during July and August 2024.

With the exception of news bulletins and Sunday morning religious programmes, the Games will take up all broadcast slots of both channels, the official TV hosts of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The Olympics will be broadcast all day on France 2, with events such as swimming and athletics; in the evening on France 3 and on the france.tv platform, where urban sports such as climbing and breakdancing will be covered.

“Something special is going to be organised. We will take over both channels. Games in Paris are something unseen in TV in the last hundred years, so we’re going to promote them the most we can,” explained France Télévisions’s sport director Laurent Eric Le Lay during the recent Médias en Seine festival in Paris. The last Olympics Games in the French capital city were those in 1924.
