CaixaForum+ reports 170,000+ users

CaixaForum+, the free online platform supported by Spain’s la Caixa Foundation, has celebrated its first anniversary with more than 170,000 users. The OTT service, developed by Mediapro, and specialising in cultural and scientific topics, has also just launched an app available on a number of smart TV brands.
Since its launch, the platform has notched up more than 2.6 million visitors via its website and app. Some 94 per cent of CaixaForum+ subscribers live in Spain, followed by users from Argentina, Mexico and Colombia. In total, the platform has subscribers from more than 80 countries.
In the first year, the viewers have watched more than 200,000 hours of content. The most watched or listened to content were pieces on the visual and plastic arts, as well as music related content. In total, both disciplines make up 50 per cent of the total views on the CaixaForum+ platform.
Over its first year, the platform has continued to add content regularly and the site now has around 1,500 pieces available for viewing/listening.
Along with the CaixaForum+ app for smart TV’s, another new feature rolling out soon is the ability to download content for off-line viewing. In addition, CaixaForum+ will be launching in Portugal in May.
