C4 appoints Hyland to digital commissioning team

Channel 4 has appointed Charlie Hyland as Digital Commissioner focused on comedy, reporting into Head of Digital Commissioning, Sacha Khari.
Hyland was most recently Series Producer on E4 shows, Pete and Sam’s Reality News and Married at First Sight UK spin-off show, Afters, as well as Series Development Producer on Haks World for the BBC.
When he joins Channel 4 in this new role, Hyland will have a remit to commission and deliver a slate of digital-first comedy and entertainment content, targeting new and wider audiences from niche to mainstream, and working with suppliers to create distinctive comedy suitable for all social platforms.
Sacha Khari, Head of Digital Commissioning at Channel 4 said: “Charlie’s awareness of new comedic talent and his vision to drive them forward through amazing formats will be invaluable as we continue to elevate our digital comedy offering. Hyland will join Channel 4 in December.
