Crunchyroll Beta now available internationally

Crunchyroll, the global anime brand with more than 120 million registered users and more than five million subscribers, is expanding the rollout of Crunchyroll, a new opt-in beta experience for Crunchyroll web users globally.

The new web experience was introduced to users in the US earlier this year, and now users everywhere can access the fresh design, new features for better personalisation, and improved discoverability for dubbed content.

The full list of new features within Crunchyroll Beta include:

  • Crunchyroll interface update: Crunchyroll Beta offers anime fans a new user interface within the Crunchyroll homepage, including personalised recommendations and seamless navigation to watchlists or to specific show or episode pages.

  • Improved personalisation: International Crunchyroll users can now find personalised anime recommendations right from the home page, tailored specifically to their unique viewing histories. Users can also add more anime flair to their experience through a a curated library of avatars and header images featuring their favourite series including JUJUTSU KAISEN, Tokyo Revengers, Dr. STONE, Bananya and more.

  • Improved discoverability: Fans can more easily access new and existing dubs, explore different genres, find current simulcasts and popular anime titles through the improved search and filtering functionality. In addition to the new search bar, Crunchyroll will continue to offer curated collections across regions, handpicked by Crunchyroll’s local anime experts.

  • Expanding Crunchylists availability: This new feature allows fans to create a curated collection of their favuorite anime series. Fans can add a title to their unique Crunchylist creations, add any series or select episodes from Crunchyroll’s collection of more than 1,000 series, and organise their Crunchylist however they choose.

To experience Crunchyroll Beta, eligible Crunchyroll users can opt-in through the header images or pop ups that appear across the Crunchyroll website. To start, Crunchyroll Beta is available to 10 per cent of premium and free users, and will eventually become available to all premium subscribers and all free users worldwide outside of Asia over the coming weeks.

Fans can switch between the beta experience and Crunchyroll Classic as they would like and are encouraged to share feedback.

Crunchyroll is available in more than 200 countries and territories, with simultaneous translation in eight languages. Fans can watch anime for free with ads or can choose from two different subscription memberships that allow for an ad-free viewing experience, access to simulcast titles day and date with premiere in Japan, offline viewing and more.
