France Télévisions, ASO renew TdF broadcast deal

July 24, 2023

France Télévisions and Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) have reached a new agreement covering the period from 2026 to 2030, for the broadcast of all the events organised by ASO, including in particular the Tour de France and the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.

Thanks to this partnership, France Télévisions will remain the official broadcaster on all screens (whether on TV, digital devices or mobile phones) of Paris-Nice, the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris, Paris-Roubaix and Paris-Roubaix Femmes avec Zwift, the Flèche Wallonne (both the men’s and women’s races), Liège-Bastogne-Liège (both the men’s and women’s races), the Tro Bro Léon, the Critérium du Dauphiné, the Tour de France and the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, as well as Paris-Tours.

In parallel with this agreement, France Télévisions will complement the coverage of these events on its digital media by enlivening its francetvsport digital platforms and social network accounts, allowing fans to keep up to date with all the latest news about ASO’s events for an even wider audience. This multi-media distribution ensures that as many people as possible have free and unimpeded access to all of these competitions.

France Télévisions will also film the images on behalf of ASO for all its events taking place on French territory. In recent years, the exceptional production quality has been constantly enhanced, with real-time tracking of the race and, much more recently, the emergence of Team Radio, which provides an on-screen relay of conversations between sporting directors and riders, making the broadcast even more immersive for the fans. Since 2022, France Télévisions has also been actively involved in the development of women’s cycling, broadcasting major UCI Women’s World Tour events.

“The Tour de France is part of the history and heritage of the French people,” said Delphine Ernotte Cunci, Chief Executive Officer of France Télévisions. “Each summer, the Tour de France and now the Tour de France Femmes excite French and foreign spectators. I am therefore very proud and pleased to see France Télévisions continue its partnership with ASO to bring one of the world’s greatest sporting events to as many people as possible.”

“Thanks to the wealth of editorial content that accompanies the live broadcasts, both on the programmes themselves and on digital platforms, the general public has a 360° view of all our events,” added Yann Le Moenner, Managing Director of Amaury Sport Organisation. “The production quality and the commitment of France Télévisions alongside us for all of our projects are considerable assets for the development of our events. Proof of this is the immediate support from France Télévisions and its determination to promote women’s cycling, in particular through the very recent emergence of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. This new agreement promises even more future innovations, to glorify the elite sportsmen and sportswomen thus enthralling millions of television viewers and fans in the 190 countries where the images of our events are broadcast.”
