January 16, 2024
Bitmovin, a provider of video streaming infrastructure, has announced that the Recording Academy will once again use the Bitmovin Player to deploy and launch content to its global community of music fans for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.
The Bitmovin Player will be integrated with Nomad Media’s CMS to live stream one of the music industry’s most prestigious event, which celebrates the best and brightest talent from across the music industry. This is the second year in a row that Bitmovin and Nomad Media will support the live stream.
“The Grammys are an annual celebration of the music industry, spotlighting everyone from household names to up-and-coming, genre-bending talent, so it’s essential we have a powerful and reliable solution that can deliver a flawless viewing experience,” said Ray Starck, Vice President of Digital Strategy at the Recording Academy. “We first worked with Bitmovin and Nomad Media for the 2023 Grammy Awards, and their solution provided an excellent viewing experience for our audience, so it was an easy decision to work with them again.”
“The Grammy Awards is the biggest event in the music industry’s calendar, celebrating artists and music professionals across all genres and disciplines, and we are ecstatic to be working with Nomad Media and the Recording Academy once again to live-stream it to music lovers” said Stefan Lederer, CEO and co-founder of Bitmovin. “The Bitmovin Player will ensure the Recording Academy can maximise its audience reach by delivering streams to the broadest range of devices, providing flawless playback to millions of viewers.”
Branko Lepan, co-founder and CIO at Nomad Media, added: “We’re incredibly proud to be teaming up with Bitmovin once again to help the Recording Academy live-stream this year’s Grammy Awards. Our Nomad Media Platform and the Bitmovin Player will ensure viewers enjoy a seamless and immersive viewing experience for the biggest night in music.”
The 66th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on February 4th and will broadcast live on the CBS Television Network and stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
