Supershere announces Orville Peck in VR on Oculus Venues

May 28, 2020

Canadian alt-country phenom Orville Peck is teaming with Supersphere and Oculus Venues for an immersive concert event on May 29th.

Produced by Supersphere, this unique social VR event lets fans put on their headsets and meet their friends and other fans at an immersive venue.  Only available on Oculus Venues, fans will be able to attend the show on May 29th, 2019 and watch an exclusive performance from the ‘Dead of Night’ masked country singer accompanied by members of his band.

Peck is the latest dynamic artist utilizing social VR as a way to safely connect with and perform for his fans amid the Covid-19 pandemic that has shuttered venues around the country almost overnight.  Peck teamed with Supersphere to create an evening of country music that would make those fans feel close to him in a way that other streams and platforms can’t offer. Fans will be able to feel like they are with Peck in his home while also interacting with fans around the world in the virtual venue.

To date, performances produced and broadcast by Supershpere have included Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Offset and Friends, Vince Staples, Paul McCartney, Wiz Khalifa, Michelle Obama, and over 90 bands totalling 50 + hours of concerts from SXSW 2019. Broadcast innovations from Supersphere also include the first ever network TV broadcast using the “Tiny Planet” effect when Kesha performed her new single “Resentment” on The Late Late Show With James Corden in January, 2020.
