Sandbox launches FOCUS cognitive training app

January 22, 2024

Sandbox Group, the London-based group operating a network of learning businesses, has launched a new subscription-based brain training app designed to sharpen the cognitive skills of users over 40.

Developed in collaboration with neuropsychologists and medical experts at Hospital Universitario Cruces in Bilbao, the newly launched FOCUS app offers over 30 simple-to-use games. It aims to enable lifelong wellbeing through stimulating five core cognitive areas and improving attention, reasoning, coordination, memory and visuospatial skills.

FOCUS can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play as a standalone premium app priced at $7.99/£6.99. The app is available in 6 different languages at launch: Spanish, English, French, Italian, Portuguese and German.  The app will be also available through its distribution partner, including newly signed Direct Carrier Billing specialist: Wister Mobile Services, that will allow FOCUS to reach audiences in Europe through operator billing via tier 1 Telcos such as Orange, Bouygues Telecom or SFR.

Shan Eisenberg, Chief Commercial Officer at Sandbox Group, commented: “We know the number of users over 40 is on the rise as our generation lives longer and healthier and with more people relying on phones and tablets for entertainment. So we are chuffed to have launched a great new app to help users stay mentally fit through fun, stimulating games backed by technology that allows for seamless integration into our partner telco services.”

Olivier Lambolez, Director of Business Development and Partnerships at Wister, added: “In our ongoing search for premium services distributed via DCB we’ve identified a great synergy with Sandbox Group and are excited about the launch of its new app, Focus. Our international telecom operator partners welcome the innovative cognitive training app, especially in France (Orange, SFR, and Bouygues Telecom) and look forward to successfully utilising it in our DCB user acquisition strategy.”
